NAME OF THE REGISTER
Customer and relevant contact register of Veljekset Wahlstén Oy (“Veljekset Wahlstén Oy Customer Register”)
PURPOSE OF PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA
The register is used for Veljekset Wahlstén Oy’s invoicing, debt collection, and customer identification. The customer register is also used to fulfil statutory obligations and to comply with regulatory retention, reporting and inquiry requirements.
Personal data is also used, within the limits permitted and required by data protection legislation, for managing, administering and developing customer relationships, analysis, statistics, and for producing, offering and developing information services.
Customer data contained in the register may be used for marketing, market research and organising marketing competitions by the controller, its group companies and their partners, without disclosing personal data to external parties.
DATA CONTENT OF THE REGISTER
The customer register of Veljekset Wahlstén Oy contains the following data:
Basic customer data and identifiers:
- name
- address
- phone number
- other information provided by the customer
Customer relationship data:
- date when the customer relationship began
- invoicing and dept collection information
- use of free services (e.g., newsletters)
- benefits and campaigns targeted at or used by the data subject (including those related to the controller's partners)
- direct marketing permissions and prohibitions and data related to marketing targeting
Data required by statutory obligations, such as:
- necassary data required to fulfil obligations under anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing legislation
REGULAR SOURCES OF DATA
Primarily, data is provided by the customer. Personal data may also be collected and updated from the controller’s and its group companies’ registers, the Population Information System, credit information registers and other similar public or private data service providers, as well as from the controller’s partners.
REGULAR DISCLOSURE OF DATA AND TRANSFER OF DATA OUTSIDE THE EU OR EEA
Data is not disclosed outside the EU or EEA. Personal data is not otherwise disclosed to third parties, except to:
- authorities in cases required by law
- companies responsible for the controller's invoicing and dept collection
- marketing purposes described in section 9
PRINCIPLES OF REGISTER SECURITY
Manual material is stored properly in locked premises. Electronically stored data is kept securely in protected information systems requiring user identification. Data is processed confidentially and is not accessible to external parties.
The register is located in protected and monitored facilities. The controller’s staff is bound by confidentiality, and access to the register is technically and physically protected.
MARKETING
Information permitted by data protection legislation may be sold or disclosed from the register to selected partners of Veljekset Wahlstén Oy for direct marketing, market research and organising marketing competitions, unless the data subject has prohibited such disclosure. Veljekset Wahlstén Oy may use customer data for its own direct advertising, distance selling and other direct marketing (including electronic communication).
YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Your rights and choices depend on the purposes and circumstances of processing personal data.
Right of access: You have the right to know whether your personal data is processed and, if it is, to access that data. If less than six months have passed since the previous access request, the controller may charge a fee.
Right to give and withdraw consent: If processing is based on your consent, you have the right to give or withdraw consent at any time.
Right to rectification: You have the right to have inaccurate personal data corrected or, in certain cases, incomplete data completed.
Right to object: You may object to processing based on the controller’s legitimate interests, including profiling. The controller may refuse the request if the processing is necessary for compelling legitimate interests. You always have the right to object to processing for direct marketing purposes and related profiling.
Right to data portability: You have the right to receive personal data you have provided based on consent or contract in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit that data to another controller.
Right to be forgotten: You may request the controller to delete your data if, among other reasons, (i) you consider it unnecessary for the purposes described above, (ii) you withdraw consent, (iii) you believe the processing is unlawful, or (iv) you object to processing for direct marketing.
Right to restriction of processing: Under certain circumstances, you may request the controller to restrict processing of your personal data.
HOW YOU WILL BE INFORMED OF CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY STATEMENT
We update the Privacy Statement as necessary based on changes in our operations and services. We recommend regularly checking the latest version on our website.
RIGHT TO PROHIBIT
Under data protection legislation, the data subject has the right to prohibit Veljekset Wahlstén Oy from processing their data for direct advertising, distance selling, other direct marketing, and for market or opinion research. A customer may prohibit marketing by sending the prohibition via email or in a written and signed form to the controller at Vieterikatu 1, FI-15110 Lahti.

A cookie is an identifier sent to your device by a service. Cookies are used to manage service events. Veljekset Wahlstén Oy uses cookies only to improve user experience and the overall quality of the service and to analyse website usage for marketing and quality control.
