SandXpell effectively removes sand

Sand is a common problem for many horses, especially in autumn. Psyllium is an effective way to help remove sand from the horse’s intestines, and SandXpell is a feed supplement containing psyllium husk fiber designed for this purpose. SandXpell is easy to use, as it is fed together with the regular feed and does not need to be soaked. It comes in pellet form and has a neutral scent, making it palatable for most horses. Our staff have tested its palatability with their own horses, and even a picky Shetland pony ate SandXpell without hesitation.

SandXpell stands out from other psyllium products because, in addition to psyllium, it also contains bentonite and linseed oil, both of which have a positive effect on the stomach. The removal of sand can sometimes irritate a sensitive digestive tract, and linseed oil and bentonite may help in such cases. SandXpell is given to the horse twice a day. The dosage for horses is 70 g, and for ponies and foals 35 g, morning and evening. The course is given for seven consecutive days.

If a horse eats sand, it is always advisable to consult a veterinarian. If the amount of sand is large, the removal should be carried out under veterinary supervision. The amount of sand in the horse’s intestines can only be confirmed by an X-ray examination.
